Maintenance Engineer

Our client is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team, responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient repair of all machinery to National Standards. This role encompasses Planned Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Equipment reliability, and the use of the CMMS system. The ideal candidate will be committed to optimizing equipment reliability through a continuous improvement plan and embody our company values, particularly in regards to Safety and training.
Day to Day of the role:
- Prioritize safety at all times, both personally and for others on the manufacturing floor, warehouse, and support areas.
- Adhere to all IEEE, BS7671 Wiring Regs, and Electricity at Work regulations, ensuring safe working practices.
- Provide vision, goals, coaching, and priorities to achieve safety, quality, customer service, and cost goals.
- Responsible for facility maintenance, ensuring optimum operation of all systems in the plant and warehouse.
- Utilize the CMMS program to enhance the reliability of manufacturing and ancillary systems.
- Energize the PM schedule to create a “best in class” environment.
- Control and reduce spending, promote improvement ideas, and take responsibility for completion.
- Support production shift supervisor by efficiently reacting to breakdowns.
- Competent in the use of workshop machinery or willing to learn.
- Carry out day-to-day duties as required by the maintenance manager.
- Promote excellence in reliability engineering and maintenance practices.
- Flexible with work hours and available for overtime and occasional travel for training.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Maintenance engineering apprenticeship (Mech-elec/Elec-mech) required.
- HNC/ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field desired.
- 18th Edition certification is advantageous.
- 5 years of related experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance or project roles.
- Proficient in mechanical, electrical systems, electronic drives, and controls.
- Basic computer software skills, i.e., MS Office.
- Experience with AC and DC drives, basic PLC fault finding (Siemens), and project work beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance documents, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic diagrams.
