Based in Grain, near Rochester, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.
Role Overview
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment in their manufacturing plant. You will also play a key role in implementing preventative maintenance procedures to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production machinery, including reinforcing steel manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate necessary repairs in a timely manner.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment runs at optimal performance levels.
- Monitor and adjust equipment to meet operational requirements and safety standards.
- Liaise with production teams to minimise downtime and ensure smooth workflow.
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
- Propose improvements to machinery and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably within the steel or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
- Experience in conducting preventative maintenance and troubleshooting machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be advantageous.
