Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Aylesford, Kent

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £50,000 per annum

We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee all Engineering and Facility activities at our client’s Aylesford sites. This role involves a blend of hands-on work and delegation, providing leadership and direction to the team while supporting all departments.

Day-to-day of the Maintenance Supervisor role:

• Supervise and support a team of technicians on technical matters, improving service delivery and reducing costs.
• Monitor and report on departmental KPIs.
• Conduct engineer audits and deliver Toolbox Talks.
• Manage engineering aspects from planning to completion.
• Develop practices to improve productivity and product quality.
• Develop new health and safety policies and conduct in-house training on best practices.
• Maintain up-to-date records and actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure food hygiene and safety standards are consistently upheld.

Required Skills & Qualifications of the Maintenance Supervisor:

• Formal engineering qualification.
• Experience in electrical and mechanical installation.
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices; IOSH or higher preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Experience in a FMCG environment.
• Proficient in incident investigation, risk assessments, and audit inspections.
• Ability to deliver effective training.
• Strong motivational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication, numeracy, and IT skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel).
