Shorterm require 5 x Dual Skilled TechniciansJOB TITLE: 5 x Dual Skilled Technicians (Mechanical & Electrical)JOB LOCATION: DerbySALARY: £23.53 PAYE or £30.65 Umbrella HOURS PER WEEK: 42 Hours AVERAGE per weekSHIFTS: Shifts will include Mornings/AfternoonsSTART DATE: ASAPIndustries considered: RAF, REME, British Army, Royal Navy, Marine Engineering, Electrical Avionics Technician, Rolling Stock, Commercial/Industrial Electrics, Defence, Plant Engineering, SPM, HVAC, and Process EngineeringDisciplines considered: Electrical Engineer, Electrician, Avionic Technician, Aircraft Electrician, Electrical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical EngineerSummaryAs part of a small technical team undertaking maintenance, repair and rudimentary fault finding on rail vehicles, ensuring that the Rolling stock Fleet are operated safely.Job OverviewTo undertake all types of Mechanical & Electrical maintenance work, repair and fault finding on Rolling Stock to ensure that we provide our customer with a reliable, safe and defect free train. The Technician will be responsible for ensuring that any maintenance they have undertaken at the depot is done so in accordance with the companies' safety regulations. Any maintenance undertaken by the Technician should not infringe on the customers timetable unless the safety of the set is compromised.The position of Technician is a key Safety Critical position and is a requirement against the Service Agreement (SA). This position is the key focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet.To take responsibility for the safe, efficient and professional workmanship of self and others under their charge.Undertake detailed fault finding and investigation on specific technical issues. Identify possible improvements and feedback into Engineering. Compliance with all laid down H&S legislation and depot procedures to ensure a safe accident free environment. Required to continually look at opportunities to adopt and develop continuous improvement techniques. Co-operate with management in all matters relating to Health and SafetyAdvise of any defects/deficiencies in equipment/arrangements that could compromise the Health and Safety of themselves and othersThe Technician will be responsible for amending Companies Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMI's) and Network Rails rule book as well as the day to day paperwork requirements for running operations within Central LondonYou will take lead responsibility for maintenance matters and for your own personal efficiency. Consequently the company will rely on you to be highly professional and able to work on your own initiative, as well as being a good written and verbal communicator who can liaise with customers, suppliers and engineering staff and produce reports on failures, derailments and other incidents. Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of lean methodologies and techniques.Person profile:Knowledge and experienceYou will be a highly self-motivated individual, able to work under your own initiative and work in a team. You will possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills. You will need extensive all-round knowledge of modern rolling stock systems, experience of depot operations and fault finding techniques.Identify possible improvements and feedback into Engineering.
