MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT - PERMANENT (8AM TO 5PM)

Our client is a family run SME who have over 150 staff and due to recently expanding have created a new position for a Management Accountant to join their finance team of 5.
Having gone through an exciting period of expansion the company have identified the need to recruit a commercially minded person who can improve the monthly reporting pack and offer commentary on variances and identify areas for commercial growth, efficiency or improvement.
The ideal person will have solid experience in this area, have strong communication skills to be able to business partner senior stake holders and be able to provide commentary to the SLT at month end, quarter end, year end.
The ideal person will be QBE, or final stage of CIMA or ACCA.
The main responsibilities:
- Leading the month-end process, including preparing management accounts, investigating any discrepancies in the accounts, providing commentary and variance analysis, and presenting results at monthly meetings with budget holders and senior leadership team.
- Performing the month-end procedures in the accounting software
- Analysis financial information within each contract to assist business profitability and growth.
- Handling revenue recognition, work in progress (WIP) accrual calculations, and turnover reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Conducting weekly/monthly timetable meetings with contract managers to ensure all contracts are performing as projected.
- Preparing quarterly balance sheet reports and related commentary.
- Leading the annual budget process and year-end forecast by liaising with Managers.
- Reviewing weekly/monthly bank reconciliations and providing support as required
- Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making
- Perform thorough audits of accounts and bookkeeping records to verify accuracy and compliance with established standards
- Preparing periodic financial statements, conducting budgetary reviews, and developing financial forecasts to enable effective financial planning and control.
