Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting a fantastic organisation based in Newcastle on the appointment of a Management Accountant.
Responsibilities include:
· Preparation of accurate monthly/quarterly Management Accounts with relevant insights/commentary (P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow)
· Prepare and review reconciliations to verify the accuracy of the management accounts, and perform monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date variance analysis to budget and prior year on P&L.
· Approval of journals
· Continuously monitor financial KPIs, P&L, cash position and balance sheet, identifying variances and recommending areas for improvement
· Preparation and review of monthly reporting packs and production and review of ad hoc reporting as requested.
· Business partner with internal stakeholders (FP&A, Internal audit and Financial reporting teams) to assist with their decision-making
· Business partner with the wider business heads for overhead reporting and budget/forecast discussions in relation to cost-centre ownership
· Assist in the delivery of and consolidation of management accounts
· Carry out indepth analysis to improve the accuracy of cost accruals
· Provide support in response to external and internal audit requests.
· Have a continuous improvement mindset and to encourage the Management Accounting team to improve process control, quality of data input & output, and improve accuracy of postings
· Foster collaboration across the other teams within the Finance department to ensure opportunities to improve finance systems, processes and client service are identified and addressed
· Act as a systems administrator for finance and banking systems.
· Assist in developing the junior members of the Management Accounting team, through training, knowledge and skill sharing required to deliver their individual and team objectives
· Business partnering with FP&A team on cost analysis and assistance in preparing for board packs
Experience
· Excellent working knowledge of Excel - essential
· Experiencing managing/supervising a team - essential
· Qualified Accountant with either ACCA/ACA/CIMA/ICAS
Salary : 45000 - 50000
