The Role

Our client, a successful and award-winning manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations and contribute to financial strategies in an interim capacity. This temporary role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact by ensuring accurate financial management and developing robust financial systems. Reporting to senior management, you will lead the finance function and oversee the Accounts Assistant.

• Preparing monthly management accounts and providing variance analysis against budgets.
• Managing monthly accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Overseeing credit control and monitoring bad debts.
• Managing and processing payroll, including supplier payments.
• Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT reconciliations, including postponed VAT transactions.
• Maintaining accurate cash flow forecasts and updating quarterly forecasts.
• Managing the fixed asset register and producing costing, margin, and dashboard reports.
• Reviewing and managing customer and supplier agreements, including monitoring supplier rebates.
• Developing and continuously improving financial systems and procedures.
• Liaising with external accountants for year-end processes and R&D tax credits.
• Monitoring and maintaining costing and pricing tools within the business.
• Supporting strategic financial planning and forecasting for the company.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, including experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Proficiency in financial systems and a proactive approach to continuous improvement are highly desirable. This role could suit someone who has worked as an Accountant, Interim Finance Manager, or Management Accountant.
