An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a dynamic outsourcing department in one of London's top 25 accountancy firms. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of clients across different sectors, building and maintaining key relationships that are central to the firm's continued growth.

As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing a range of accounting functions and ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial services. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys working with cloud accounting platforms such as Xero and QuickBooks, and has a solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and VAT legislation.

What you will be doing a Management Accountant:

• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of the payroll for the entire group.
• Record bank payments, receipts, and conduct bank reconciliations.
• Manage sales and purchase ledgers.
• Perform control account reconciliations.
• Handle transactions in foreign currencies.
• Prepare VAT returns and monthly/quarterly management accounts for client review.
• Account for monthly adjustments, including prepayments, accrued income, and accruals.
• Deal with client queries related to bookkeeping and VAT, providing clear, concise explanations.

What you'll need to succeed

• ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent) or be qualified by experience.
• A sound knowledge of VAT legislation and Making Tax Digital (MTD).
• Proven experience in preparing management accounts, ideally within a busy accountancy practice.
• A broad understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, and pensions.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel, with the ability to use a range of functionality.
• Xero certification (preferable).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact with clients across various sectors.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think laterally to identify potential issues and provide solutions.
• A proactive, team-oriented approach and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
