Management Accountant – £28,000 - £35,000 + Hybrid working

Are you a part qualified Management Accountant looking to progress in your career with a growing organisation that values your expertise?We are working with a growing and ambitious organisation based in Derby that is seeking an experienced and driven Management Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers a hybrid working model, providing the flexibility to work both from home and in the office.

About the Company:Our client operates in a fast-paced and evolving industry with an annual turnover exceeding £100 million. Backed by private equity, they are on an exciting growth journey and require a skilled Management Accountant to support their expanding operations.

The Role:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, understanding the key factors driving variances.
  • Provide financial analysis and interpretation to assist senior management in monthly business reviews.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations for designated regions.
  • Take ownership of specific cost lines, performing analytical reviews and investigating significant variances.
  • Manage and oversee internal financial systems and processes, including staff training.
  • Identify and implement enhancements to financial processes and controls.
  • Develop and supervise a Finance Assistant, supporting their growth and development.
  • Assist with statutory account queries and contribute to the audit process when required.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA accountant (or equivalent), actively working towards full qualification.
  • Proven experience in preparing management accounts to tight deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, with the ability to create and interpret detailed spreadsheets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across the organisation.
  • A team player with excellent organisational and analytical skills, as well as technical expertise.
  • Adaptable and proactive, with a strong eye for detail.
