Greenwellgleeson are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a growing business based in Leicester.
Duties of the role will include:
Manage the Finance team, including Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and liaison/review with overseas team
Ensure that transactions are recorded and reports delivered in a timely and accurate manner
Partner with the business, ensuring the business has information required for day-to-day operations and key decision making
Prepare monthly management accounts; P&L, Balance Sheet (including all reconciliations) and Cash Flow
Daily and weekly KPI's, including customer Sales/Margin analysis
Ensure financial controls are in place to safeguard the business, in particular bank payments; LC checks; currency and FX variances
Stock control - valuation and aged analysis; review and follow up any slow-moving stock; control GRN and PPV accounts
Prepare and process VAT returns for UK and Europe (and Intrastat returns as required/applicable)
Manage transactions for European business, including VAT and Duty accounting
Ensure that data is accurate and up to date, including Customer and Supplier master data, payment terms and credit limits (Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger)
Provide all information and analysis for the external audit; assist with other audits required for the business
Assist with statutory accounts (UK and Germany); budgets & forecasts; cash flow projections
Identify and drive improvements to streamline and document processes and controls (including cross-functional impact) and efficiency savings
Provide cover for other roles within Finance team, eg during periods of absence
Other related ad hoc duties as required
Skills, Requirements, Qualifications
QBE, Qualified /part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Commercial acumen
Results oriented, with good organisational and problem-solving skills
Team management skills, leading and developing others
Strong analytical and Excel skills are essential, with ability to transfer raw data into meaningful information for senior management
Good understanding of business processes, ERP and systems
Experience of working in multi-currency environment and managing exchange risk
Experience with European operations an advantage
Tax knowledge/experience, including VAT
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and excellent documentation skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
Works well independently and as part of a team
Experience of the retail industry/major retailers would be an advantage
Salary : 45000 - 50000
