About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join a thriving manufacturing organisation near Castleford. This role is perfect for a driven individual seeking to progress their career in manufacturing finance and gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will take part ownership of the management accounts process, support decision-making, and work closely with operational teams to drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare and analyse P&L, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Costing and Variance Analysis: Monitor manufacturing costs, investigate variances, and help the business maintain cost efficiency.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Inventory Management: Oversee stock analysis and reconciliations, ensuring accurate valuation and reporting.
• Business Partnering: Collaborate with operational teams to provide insights into financial performance and drive improvements in production efficiency.
• Key Performance Metrics: Develop and report KPIs to track financial health and operational performance.
• Audit and Compliance: Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.

Skills and Experience Required

• Qualifications:
  • Part-qualified (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
• Experience:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/production environment or similar industry
  • Solid knowledge of management accounting, financial reporting, cost analysis, and variance analysis.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Experience with financial reporting and budgeting tools is highly advantageous
• Interpersonal Skills:
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
