Job title - Management Accountant (Newly Qualified)

Salary - £50,000 to £60,000 dependent on experience

Location - City of London (Hybrid Working)

The Company - EslingKenny is currently working with a leading property developer in London who has won numerous awards and is listed on the London Stock-Exchange. They are looking to strengthen their company with the appointment of a Management Accountant which is a newly created role. This role provides great progression and they are seeking someone who wants to progress within the business.

The aim of the role is to support and assist the Head of Finance and Finance Director with departmental objectives, ensure that the month-end forecasting and Divisional Reporting is carried out with accuracy. Ensure month-end accounts are prepared for review, assist with management of the department and support land appraisal work.

Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the month-end cash and profit accurately and report to the HoF/FD with comments on any movements in the month and large movements forecasted.
  • Reviewing debtors and bespoke reconciliations
  • Preparation and commentary on monthly management accounts and forecasts
  • Coordinate and collate divisional returns to group requests on business performance, including draft commentaries.
  • Assisting with the management of the central accounts payable function
  • To assist with the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial and regulatory information for internal and external audit purposes.
  • To assist with the co-ordination and preparation of the Divisional budgets
  • To undertake other projects and analysis on an ad hoc basis
  • Assist with the review of internal control processes and tax and regulatory compliance.
  • Bank reconciliations

Development Objectives:

  • Understand all systems used within the Finance function in detail
  • Able to carry out a month-end close with minimal supervision
  • Highly IT literate, able to produce detailed reports for management
  • Ability to challenge the norm, questioning procedures and ensuring good financial control within the department
  • Develop commercial awareness
  • Able to respond to ad hoc requests from senior Finance staff with accurate and considered information, reflecting the required level of detail.

Candidate profile:

  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified
  • Strong Excel and IT skills are essential
  • Team player, willing to learn and get involved with a wide range of tasks
  • Ability to work on own initiative and generate solutions

Benefits:

The role offers up to £60k per annum dependent on experience and 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) + other benefits.
