Leading Lloyds Syndicate is currently hiring for a Finance Systems Manager to join their London team. This role will be responsible for the day to-day running of the company's newly implemented finance system (Phinsys) in support of the quarterly and year end close processes and the effective use of Phinsys within the business generally. Responsibilities: • Lead financial close processes for data intensive deliverables using the Phinsys system and End User Computing solutions, including spreadsheets. • Coordinate, drive and monitor the timetable for Phinsys inputs from the key source data providers. • Implement, monitor and maintain assigned processes that might support the use of the Phinsys system. • Oversee system changes/enhancements and releases. • Key point of contact for the user community with training and day-to-day assistance. • Initiate and drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and associated systems, processes and policies. • Support the close process by ensuring the Phinsys system is ready, configured and processes are monitored. • Manage and monitor support tickets raised with Phinsys. • Implement accounting/financial enhancements by providing analysis, setup, and testing to ensure accurate financial results and compliance with primarily UK GAAP but also IFRS requirements. • Document test results and troubleshoots issues. • Collaborate with IT, Change Management and other departments to ensure all user needs are identified, included in system requirements and all technical aspects are properly documented and addressed. • Work with key stakeholders and Phinsys to ensure business requirements are captured and translated into deliverables and effective solutions. • Test interfaces between applicable systems/databases. • Identify and makes recommendation for improving processes and procedures. • Create and maintain system documentation, user manuals and training documents. • Perform all system administration for assigned business application including configuration management, system monitoring, and appropriate documentation of all activities. • Assists the implementation team to deliver a successful go-live and support all BAU activities Requirements: • Proven experience in a Finance Systems role, especially in the implementation, support and maintenance of quarter end reporting for a Finance team - Essential • GI or Lloyds Insurance industry experience - Essential • Good understanding of Financial Reporting and UK GAAP reporting. • Previous Phinsys experience is desirable, but not essential. • A background working within a finance division (ideally financial reporting) with experience of managing large volumes of data using a system either in a systems role or as part of a finance role where you have acted as the subject matter expert for the team. • Proven experience in providing continuous improvement and innovation in a project-based setting. • Advanced Excel skills and some basic knowledge of SQL preferred. • Good Knowledge of APIs and systems connectivity • Exceptional organisational and analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. • Ability to build and maintain successful and engaging relationships internally and externally. • Strong decision-making and problem-solving aptitude • Qualified Accountant - preferred but not essential This role involves regular interaction with key internal stakeholders so it is essential that you have strong interpersonal skills. This position has realistic career progression resulting in a managerial position in the future. The company offers a hybrid working environment with 3 days in the office.
