Manufacturing Operations Director (Defense / Munitions)£120,000 - £150,000 + Performance Bonus + City Centre Apartment + Medical & Health Care + Tesla - £200k package + Regularly Expensed Flights HomeBucharest, RomaniaAre you an experienced Manufacturing Operations Director, looking to work for a US/EU defense manufacturer, with excellent leadership experience, who can make a positive difference in the efficient production and delivery of high-quality products and who possesses extensive experience in production management, vendor management and liaison with government clients?On offer is an outstanding opportunity to help double growth in our client's business where you will be rewarded with an outstanding ex-patriate package. Our client has an extensive order book for at least the next 5 years, and you will be responsible for driving efficiency and growth in an essential industry.Your experience will encompass Production & Factory Management, Vendor Management, Customer Management and Inspection & Quality. You will be a responsible and capable business leader from a defense, aerospace or technical manufacturing environment with excellent change and management skills.The role:

• Oversee all aspects of the production process to ensure efficient and timely manufacture of munitions and improve production workflows
• Manage relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of materials and components
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Implement and maintain best practices in factory management, including lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
• Manage all customs-related activities, ensuring compliance with US, EU, and local regulations
• Oversee the development and implementation of quality assurance programs and procedures

The person:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or
• advanced degree preferred
• Extensive experience in operations management within the defense industry or a similar high-stakes manufacturing environment
• Experience of managing large-scale production facilities and teams
• Strong understanding of vendor management, customs processes, and quality assurance
