Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Market Data and Information Manager, you will:
- Develop and Execute Strategy: Lead the development of a cohesive market data strategy, blending third-party and in-house tools to deliver innovative, high-value solutions for the firm.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Forge strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-suite, to ensure data solutions align with user needs and strategic goals.
- Vendor and Contract Management: Oversee vendor relationships with major providers (e.g., Bloomberg, MSCI, S&P Global) by negotiating complex multi-year, multi-million-pound contracts and ensuring service quality and compliance.
- Performance Optimization: Lead vendor performance evaluations against KPIs, assess risks, manage vendor audits, and maintain compliance with contractual terms, driving value from every contract.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of market data and vendor management professionals across international offices, fostering expertise and a collaborative approach.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with diverse teams (Legal, Product, Investment, Client Services) to align market data initiatives with organizational priorities, enhance data accessibility, and streamline cost management.
Qualifications and ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive, Stable Experience: At least 10 years in market data and information management within asset management or financial services, with a focus on equity and multi-asset environments. Candidates must demonstrate long-term, permanent roles within asset management firms, rather than contracting positions.
- Equity Market Knowledge: Strong experience working with equities, with an understanding of stock selection processes and the factors that drive investment decisions in equity markets.
- Vendor Management Expertise: Demonstrated success in managing strategic vendor relationships, negotiating complex data agreements, and ensuring optimal performance.
- Strategic Insight and Problem-Solving: A track record of creating data strategies that enhance business value, along with the adaptability to solve complex challenges.
- Stakeholder Management Skills: Proven ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with senior-level stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Project and Budget Management: Strong skills in leading data-related projects, managing budgets, and driving cost efficiencies.
