Job Description :

We are recruiting for an experienced Materials Buyer to join a respected and fast-growing organization based in Shannon, Co. Clare. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated buyer with supply chain experience to step into a key role, offering a competitive salary of up to €42,000. The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring seamless procurement processes to support project and production timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the supply chain process for various projects, including planning, scheduling, and purchasing all necessary materials, tooling, and services.
  • Source, order, and expedite project materials to ensure timely delivery, aligning with key production milestones.
  • Accurately place orders with correct pricing, certification, shipping instructions, and lead-time details.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for on-site customer representatives, updating them on the status of material supplies and project progress.
  • Process multiple order types, including Purchase Orders, Repair Orders, Exchange Orders, Service Orders, and Non-Stock Orders.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure smooth and timely delivery of orders, resolving any logistical challenges.
  • Collaborate with project leaders and materials coordinators to prioritize essential parts and explore options for in-house repair or fabrication.
  • Participate in daily project and department meetings to provide up-to-date supply chain updates and address any arising needs.
  • Innovate by identifying new material options for production without compromising on quality.
  • Audit and monitor suppliers to ensure up-to-date approvals, optimal lead times, pricing, and service levels.

Candidate Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a purchasing or supply chain role, ideally within a regulated or high-quality standards industry.
  • Relevant qualification in Purchasing, Logistics, or Supply Chain (IIPMM/APICS preferred).
  • Strong IT and ERP system skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals; knowledge of Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC) is a plus.
  • Commercially aware with a strong customer focus.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and possess excellent attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • Primarily based in Shannon, with potential travel requirements.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, or varied shifts may be needed.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided and required for certain tasks.
