Role Overview:
They are seeking a skilled and meticulous Materials Handler to join the Warehouse Operations team in Horsham. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of all materials and products to the point of need, supporting their high-performance targets.
The ideal candidate will have experience in electronic manufacturing, with a focus on material handling, kitting, and working within lean and environmental frameworks. This is not your typical warehouse role; we are looking for someone who understands the nuances of working with electronic components and the importance of accuracy and efficiency in a high-tech environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, check, and book in materials, ensuring accurate entry into the computer systems.
- Prepare and kit parts for manufacturing, ensuring they are ready on time and accurately recorded.
- Manage stock using FIFO principles and maintain the internal K-Bin replenishment systems.
- Support the Materials Team Leader in achieving departmental KPI objectives, including daily cycle counts and stock minimisation tasks.
- Unload/load delivery vehicles using the company Forklift Truck and manage the disposal of unrequired materials in compliance with COSHH/ISO14001 regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and contribute to achieving the company's business, quality, and environmental objectives.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in material handling within an electronic manufacturing environment.
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and computer skills, particularly in MS Office.
- Knowledge of JIT (Just-In-Time) and KANBAN processes.
- Excellent diligence with strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and contribute as part of a team.
