We are seeking a dedicated Mathematics Teacher to provide high-quality, therapeutic, and child-centred education to students aged 5 to 17 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children facing unique challenges.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver Mathematics education across various levels from Entry Level to GCSE, ensuring all lessons are engaging and cater to the diverse needs of our students.
- Collaborate with national subject champions and non-subject specialists to enhance the learning experience, ensuring it is effective and tailored to individual needs.
- Build professional, nurturing, and positive relationships with students, motivating and inspiring them to achieve their potential.
- Plan and execute exciting learning opportunities that challenge students and foster a love for Mathematics.
- Manage complex and challenging behaviours through consistent, flexible, and non-judgemental approaches.
- Actively participate in decision-making processes that affect school operations and student outcomes, contributing to both academic and extracurricular activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK, specialising in Mathematics.
- Experience in teaching Mathematics across various educational levels, including preparing students for GCSEs.
- Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively, particularly with students who have SEMH and other SEND.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a capacity to build trust and rapport with students.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning, particularly in therapeutic and supportive education strategies.
