Role Summary: As a Project Manager, you'll be pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of activities within the programme, meeting required safety, quality, time, and cost targets. Your role will include recognising and managing the wider impacts of the programme on the project and building strong relationships to ensure project success.

Responsibilities of a Mechanical Project Manager:
- Driving the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.
- Developing and implementing strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be managed, organised, and executed.
- Monitoring and managing the progress of the schedule - tracking progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and providing key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
- Anticipating, managing, and resolving issues within the contract or package. Identifying risks and facilitating the resolution of all issues raised, developing, and updating the programme budget, and escalating any issues to the Delivery Manager.
- Displaying a broad understanding of mechanical systems infrastructure, safety & commissioning requirements, commercial construction industry practices, construction contracts, and budget/schedule management.
- Engaging and communicating with stakeholders to ensure accurate timelines are maintained, and tasks delivered.
- Planning and developing the project ideas from concept to completion, defining scope and monitoring progress.
Requirements Mechanical Project Manager:
- Educated to HNC in Mechanical Engineering (Minimum requirement), preferably to degree level.
- Candidate will preferably have experience in nuclear mechanical systems, installation, quality & safety needs.
- Experienced in managing Nuclear installation standards including safety critical systems.
- Professional Qualification in Project Management such as APM PMQ or other recognised qualification.
- Track record of delivering projects in complex environments, from concept to handover, within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
- Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.
- Experience in the design, manufacturing, and installation of mechanical equipment (Piped Systems, HVAC, Drainage Heating & Cooling), including Nuclear grade and Nuclear safety critical plant & equipment.
