Mechanical Assembler - Fortis Recruitment Solutions : Job Details

My client, a leading engineering company based in Basingstoke is looking to recruit a Mechanical Assembler initially on a temporary basis with a view to becoming permanent after a period of time (typically 3-6 months). Candidates must have previous and recent Mechanical Assembly experience and be willing to learn new skills.

Main Duties of the Mechanical Assembler:

• Assembly of mechanical components.
• Self-inspection and testing.
• Ability to problem solve in a logical manner.
• Final inspection of finished products with a strong commitment to quality.
• Kitting and simple assembly (including picking and storage of goods).
• Complete necessary paperwork.

Candidate skills of the Mechanical Assembler:

• Ability to interpret and implement instructions and drawings.
• Be able to demonstrate dexterity.
• Have the ability to work to tight tolerances with small mechanical parts.
• Being a Time served mechanical / craft apprentice would be very desirable but certainly not essential.

Hours of work are 07.30 - 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 07.30 - 12.30 on Friday covering a total of 39 hours per week.

An attractive hourly rate of between £12.82 - £14.29 per hour is on offer for the successful candidate.
