Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: Monaghan, IrelandSalary: €45,000 - €55,000 per annum (DOE)Syntech Recruitment is partnering with a well-established engineering business specialising in the design and manufacturing of special-purpose waste management equipment. Our client provides innovative, high-quality machinery tailored to optimise waste management processes for diverse industries.Role SummaryOur client seeks a highly skilled and qualified Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of new products, enhance existing designs, and collaborate closely with sales and production teams. This role is crucial in ensuring customer specifications are met while optimising manufacturing processes and maintaining the highest standards of product quality and performance.Key Responsibilities

• Develop new designs and improve existing ones from concept to production.
• Verify equipment requirements with customers and implement Lean systems for production.
• Document designs with Autodesk Inventor, including part models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Create SOPs and tutorials, manage bills of materials, and structure product information.
• Provide after-sales support, including maintenance training.

Essential Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years in machine design, ideally with steel fabrication, with a background in manufacturing multi-directional handling equipment, agricultural machinery like balers and wrappers, or mobile crushing and screening machinery.
• Skills: Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, strong communication, project management abilities, and continuous improvement focus.
• Technical Knowledge: Broad engineering skills, with advanced expertise in Mechanical Design, Hydraulic, or Electrical Systems.
