Mechanical Engineer - Futures Recruitment Ltd : Job Details

We are currently searching for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with experience in a Manufacturing Engineering background with particular hands-on experience.

The Mechanical Engineer reports to the  Business Unit Leader,  to oversee the engineering functions for the product range, taking responsibility for the technical content and documentation control of the existing products while making improvements and resolving issues. The position also owns the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, taking any new customer enquiries or problems and turning them into new viable products, which hopefully exceed customer expectations.

The successful Mechanical Engineer candidate must have the following skills and experiences:

• Experience of Mechanical  Engineering Engineer (essential)
• HNC or Degree in mechanical engineering
• Experience from a Manufacturing / Construction / Engineering background (essential)
• Management or supervisory experience (desirable)
• Sheet metal processing, CNC turning, and pressure die-casting experience are particularly desirable.
• MRP experience, ideally in the use of Sage.
• CAD experience, ideally competent in SolidWorks or similar software.
• Excellent communication skills along with problem-solving and decision-making capability
• Strategic thinking skills and the ability to act decisively when needed

The successful Mechanical Engineer candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Manage the engineering functions for the product range
• Provide technical support and resources on existing products
• On the New Product Introduction NPI process
• Prioritise improvements & resolve issues
• Manage and allocate resources, working with other teams
• Develop customer relations, developing satisfaction & product longevity
