Day to Day Duties
- Design and Development: Create and develop mechanical systems, products, and components using CAD software, ensuring functionality, safety, and efficiency
- Prototyping and Testing: Build prototypes, run simulations, and conduct tests to evaluate product performance and make necessary adjustments
- Analysis and Problem Solving: Analyse problems related to mechanical systems, diagnose faults, and develop solutions to improve efficiency or fix issues
- Project Management: Plan, organize, and oversee projects from concept through completion, ensuring they meet deadlines, quality standards, and budget constraints
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, product designers, and manufacturing staff, to ensure integrated solutions
- Documentation: Prepare technical reports, specifications, and detailed documentation for designs, processes, and test results
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that designs comply with industry standards and government regulations, including safety codes and environmental guidelines
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest technologies and engineering advancements to apply innovative solutions in new and existing projects
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Provide support for the maintenance of mechanical systems and troubleshoot issues in both production and field environments
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Experience in product design, prototyping, and testing
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within the Water Industry would be desirable
