£40,000-70,000 dependant on experience
Position Overview: We are seeking a number of experienced Mechanical Engineers at a variety of levels, to support one of the UK’s leading water consultancies, who are going through a period of growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of water and sewage treatment processes, strong technical skills, and the ability to manage and mentor junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and manage water and sewage treatment processes and equipment.
Produce hydraulic calculations for pipelines, pump duties, and screen installations.
Oversee CAD resources for engineering drawings.
Mentor and develop junior engineers.
Handle line management responsibilities.
Foster positive relationships with business partners and key clients.
Manage multidisciplinary design teams.
Conduct feasibility, outline, and detailed design.
Estimate bid/proposal fees and project hours.
Perform technical reviews and contribute to technical assurance.
Ensure commercial and contractual compliance.
Promote company values and culture.
Use Microsoft Office 365 for project management.
The person:
BEng, BSc, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
Chartered Engineer status.
Extensive experience in water and sewage treatment design or oil & gas or energy or environmental consultancy
Proficiency in hydraulic calculations.
Valid driving license.

Examples of Work:
Conduct site surveys and capacity assessments.
Develop mechanical designs, including P&IDs, hydraulic design, and risk assessments.
Write technical reports at various project stages.
Liaise with UK clients.
Create general arrangement and detailed mechanical design drawings.
Support or lead bids and fee proposals.
Understand and apply DSEAR, CDM, WIMES, and relevant standards.
Participate in Hazard Studies (HAZOP, Access, Lifting, and Maintenance).
Develop standard and bespoke design solutions.
Review calculations and reports.
Consider CAPEX and OPEX implications of design decisions.
Support key clients and business partners through secondments.
Desirable Skills:
Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Assessments.
DSEAR assessments.
HVAC experience.
