An esteemed organisation specialising in the design and manufacture of process machinery for the pharmaceutical industry is seeking hard-working and capable Mechanical Fitters / Field Engineers. This role involves factory machine assembly and subsequent site installation and servicing.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Mechanical assembly of full machines and sub-assemblies, including gearboxes, chain drives, leadscrews, and bearing housings.
- Etching logos and serial numbers on machinery.
- Working from mechanical engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conducting fault finding, troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem-solving.
- Operating tool-room machinery such as drills, saws, lathes, and mills.
- Completing inspection and quality documents post-assembly.
- Packing and crating of machines upon completion.
- Performing field service work, both domestically and internationally.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ, BTEC, HNC, HND, or similar qualification in an engineering-related discipline is preferred.
- Significant consideration given to time-served apprentices.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, and technical/industrial environments.
- Basic electrical knowledge for cable runs and basic pneumatics is advantageous.
- Possession of a driving licence is preferable.
- Forklift licence is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and consistently meet deadlines.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to apply extra effort to meet project/team goals.
- Prepared to travel both domestically and internationally for site work, including installation and commissioning of machines.
