Job Title: Lead Hand (Locomotives)Location: LeicestershireSalary: £43,000 per annumShifts: Rotating - Mornings, AfternoonsAbout the Role:We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Biased Leading Hand/Supervisor to join our team, ensuring the efficient maintenance and preparation of locomotives. This role requires a hands-on approach, with 80% of your time spent on the shop floor conducting fitness to run checks, brake testing, and fuel point preparation, while 20% will be focused on supervision and delivering key performance indicators (KPIs).Key Responsibilities:* Perform fitness to run, brake testing, and fuel point preparation on locomotives.* Lead and supervise a team, ensuring high standards of work and safety compliance.* Oversee and deliver the 5 main KPIs to drive performance and efficiency.* Support and mentor team members, ensuring best practices and high-quality output.* Maintain accurate records and ensure all work is completed to industry standards.What We're Looking For:* Strong mechanical background, ideally within the rail industry.* Experience in locomotive maintenance, including brake systems and fuel preparation.* Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and guide a team.* Willingness to work a rotating 3-shift system (mornings, afternoons, nights).* Commitment to health and safety protocols and industry regulations.What We Offer:* Competitive salary of £42,500 per annum* Additional benefits package* Opportunity to work with a leading company in locomotive maintenance* Career development and training opportunitiesReady to take the next step in your career?
