Role Overview: As a Mechanical Technician, you will support the Mechanical Technical Lead and wider Engineering Team in ensuring the smooth operation of all building services. Your role will be essential in providing both planned and reactive maintenance across critical systems, with a focus on mechanical distribution and plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out inspections, testing, planned maintenance, and repairs on building systems, equipment, and plant
• Diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical systems, ensuring minimal downtime
• Install and repair piped services, including steam, condensate, compressed air, and drainage systems
• Support the startup, operation, and shutdown of service equipment as required
• Provide technical support on projects and assist with commissioning and handover of new plant equipment
• Ensure all work is conducted safely and in line with environmental standards

Who We’re Looking For:

• Completed apprenticeship and qualifications in mechanical engineering (BTEC / ONC or HNC)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance within building services
• Strong problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and communication
• Ability to work independently, manage your time, and deliver under tight deadlines

Bonus Points:

• Experience with HVAC systems, energy savings, and steam networks
• Familiarity with root cause failure analysis and water treatment plants
