Job Title: Medical Secretary

Location: Pinderfields Hospital, Aberford Road, Wakefield, WF1 4DG

Hours: 28 hours per week Monday - Friday hours & days to be agreed with candidate

Trust Location: Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust

Role type: Temporary for 4 months with possibility of being made permanent

What you'll be responsible for:

• 90% of this role will be audio tying duties
• To provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the spinal injuries team. The candidate must have excellent communication skills to support work with colleagues/parent/carers/partner agencies to promote professionalism for the service
• Provide a first point of contact for the service for all service user enquiries, responding to telephone and face to face enquiries in an efficient, tactful and professional manner.
• Responsible for maintaining, developing, and managing all aspects of secretarial support clinically and/or administratively.
• Creating new letter formats to meet the needs of the service.

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.

• Audio typing experience
• NHS experience is preferred or someone from a Secretarial background such as Legal
• Polite and friendly manner and comfortable dealing with sensitive and distressing situations
• Enthusiastic, confident approach to change, calm and reliable under pressure
• Strong admin background
