Merchandiser - Up to £40,000

This is a perfect role for an experienced Junior Merchandiser who is looking for their next step-up in their merchandising career. Likewise, it would also suit an existing Merchandiser who is seeking a new challenge with a successful merchandising team.
This is what you’ll do:
- Track sales performance, inventory levels, and markdowns throughout the season.
- Identify trends and patterns to make informed decisions and adjustments, and implement strategies to maximise profitability and minimise risk.
- Evaluate previous season performance, metrics, and supplier performance. Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and propose strategies to address performance gaps and capitalise on opportunities.
- Develop pricing strategies, markdown plans, and promotional campaigns to maximise sales and margin while maintaining competitive positioning.
- Providing ad-hoc information to the wider product team to support trading and planning decisions.
- Collaborate with buying teams to develop and implement seasonal range plans, ensuring alignment with market trends, customer preferences, and financial targets.
- Communication and collaboration with suppliers, establishing trust and transparency in negotiations and business dealings.
- Forecast demand accurately with line cards to plan capacity. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely production and regularly review progress highlighting any potential threats.
- Extensive knowledge of forecasting WSSI independently and ability to clearly demonstrate actions taken where risk/opportunity has been identified.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to align merchandising efforts with broader business objectives and initiatives
- Work collaboratively with the warehouse team to manage intake capacity & priorities
- Support and develop the junior members of the team.
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience either as a Junior Merchandiser, Merchandiser or similar
- Analytical skills - confident in working with and extracting insight from data.
- Detail orientated with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- You’ll enjoy working both as part of a team as well as being self-motivated.
- Flexible and open to change as the business grows.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong computer literacy skills- especially in Excel
