Mixed Tax Manager

Reed Accountancy is recruiting on behalf of a medium-sized firm in East London. The firm is seeking a Mixed Tax Manager to join their team. This role offers a great deal of flexibility, including hybrid working options and flexible core hours, with a clear route to a director position. The firm boasts a relaxed culture and is committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance. - It’s worth noting that the tax team have done no overtime!
Day to day of the role:
- Prepare and review corporate and personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct Capital Allowances analysis for audit clients and deliver tax planning initiatives to minimise liabilities and optimise efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing proactive tax advice and serving as a trusted advisor.
- Research complex tax issues, providing recommendations and report writing as needed.
- Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to deadlines.
- Professionally handle HMRC enquiries, negotiating where necessary and acting as a liaison.
- Review team members’ work, providing support and training as required.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal tax queries across all locations.
- Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and ensure all work is compliant with regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in corporate and personal tax within an accountancy practice.
- Knowledge of property tax is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of tax principles, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Effective communication skills, capable of explaining complex tax concepts.
- Ability to manage client relationships and work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Iris software (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Graduate calibre with CTA or equivalent qualification preferred but not essential.
