Job Title:        Modern Foreign Languages Instructor

Salary:            £12,000.00 - £18,000.00 per annum depending on experience

Location:        Trent Acres, Kings Bromley

Contract:        Permanent, Term Time Only

Hours:            24 hours per week, 3 days a week 8.00am - 4.00pm

Start date:      October 2024

Due to growth in our service, we are recruiting for a Modern Foreign Languages Instructor to join our wonderful team at Trent Acres, part of Options Autism.

Job Summary and Duties

The candidate who is selected to join our school as Modern Foreign Languages Instructor will take a leading role in teaching MFL, working with, and under the guidance of the Senior Leader Team to develop the curriculum, introduce new qualification pathways in the subject and raise the standard of MFL across the school. 

They will also need to review, monitor and adapt curriculum matters to ensure a challenging, engaging and appropriate MFL curriculum is being delivered to all, whilst always ensuring that they share the school’s values and ethos to create a highly personalised curriculum to meet individuals needs in an environment that is nurturing and holistic. 

Key Areas:

  • To contribute to raising standards of pupil progress and attainment in MFL.
  • To monitor and support the teaching and learning throughout MFL.
  • Under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher, ensure MFL is implemented, monitored and reviewed in order to analyse its effectiveness. 
  • To have a solid understanding of the school pathways and ensuring suitable learning is taking place in all environments.
  • To have an understanding of appropriate vocational qualifications and ensure pupils are working towards these in key stage 4 and key stage 5. 
  • Deliver enrichment and enhancement activities. 
  • Liaise with the Deputy Head Teacher and the Senior Leadership team to communicate subject effectiveness and how this impacts the school. 
  • To understand and support the development of appropriate sequences of learning that relate to the needs of learners in each pathway. 
  • To model professional standards at all times in line with Professional Standards for Teachers. 

About the School

Options Trent Acres School has recently undergone development and has increased its pupil numbers from 30 to 100 over the past two years, due to this the job roles advertised are new as part of this development and it is an exciting time for the school.

The school is situated on a 12 acre site and is purpose built, modern and welcoming with a range of specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding area and outdoor gymnasium and our pupils have the opportunity to work with the animals on site (horses, donkeys, goats, reptiles, chickens, chinchillas to name but a few) and learning outside of the classroom is a fundamental part of life at Options Trent Acres School. We have a dedicated team of staff who are focused on delivering high quality, pupil-centred, bespoke packages of education for all pupils.

The school is within easy reach of Stoke, Derby, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Cannock, Burton-on-Trent, Tamworth, Uttoxeter and surrounding areas.
