Multi Skilled Fitter/Joiner
Hours - 39.5 hours per week - 6:30am/3:45pm (Monday-Thursday) & 6:30am/12:30pm (Fridays)
Rate of Pay - £14.50 per hour/£572.75 per week/£29,783 per annum
Location - Pilsworth, Bury (BL9)
General Description
The successful candidate will join a dedicated team to perform high-quality installations and repairs in a safe and time-efficient manner. This role requires basic construction knowledge and the flexibility to adapt to varying workloads. The candidate should be capable of learning new skills on the job and providing support across the department as needed to meet targets. The position involves manufacturing site welfare cabins, containers, and towable units. The ideal candidate will have experience in 1st and 2nd fix joinery, plumbing, and electrical work. The role of Multi Skilled Fitter is essential for helping the department meet operational growth and collaborate effectively with other production teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret production drawings and examples to install internal and external components, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and delivery standards.
- Maintain a safe working environment, report any safety concerns, and contribute to the improvement of the working environment.
- Operate and maintain power tools and machinery following best practice guidelines and management system procedures.
- Adapt to changes in work tasks or environments, maintaining effectiveness and adjusting to new structures, processes, or requirements. Provide cover in various areas of the department as needed.
- Take proactive action to achieve results without waiting for direction.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve shared goals.
- Maintain a professional approach to all job-related tasks.
Person Specification
- Experience: The ideal candidate will have experience in a multi-trade background, which is essential. Experience in a hire repair or reactive repair background and within the site welfare sector is desirable.
- Attainment/Qualifications: An NVQ Level 2 in Multi-skilled trades is essential. It is desirable for the candidate to have an NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Joinery and an NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing.
- Competencies: Key skills and abilities required include flexibility, adaptability, the ability to achieve results, teamwork, and strong communication skills.
- Personal Qualities: The candidate should be diligent, professional, enthusiastic, determined, innovative, passionate, and composed.
- Circumstances: The role may require a willingness to work overtime due to the nature of the business, which is desirable. The candidate must supply their own tools and be eligible to work in the UK.
