Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on production machinery and equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults on production lines.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure machinery is operating efficiently and safely.
- Ensure adherence to food hygiene and safety standards at all times.
- Work closely with the production team to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance work and any repairs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and help implement lean manufacturing practices.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a multi-skilled maintenance engineer, ideally in the food or beverage industry.
- Strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and fault-finding.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene standards (HACCP).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively in a high-demand production setting.
- Flexible approach to shift work, including weekends and nights when necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
Qualifications:
- A relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent) in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (desirable).
- Experience in CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) is an advantage.
