Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician
Job Description
To provide breakdown support to Assembly areas to maintain maximum facility efficiency and uptime, carry out improvements and preventative maintenance on equipment.
Duties
- Carry out fault-finding activities and undertake timely repair of equipment of Robotics, PLC’s, Electrical Control Systems, Hydraulics and Pneumatics and spot-welding equipment.
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance activities on automated production facilities
- Adherence to department systems
- To take ownership of specific equipment to maintain excellent levels of performance with minimal downtime
- Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices and observe safety rules at all times
- Support equipment commissioning and installation projects.
- Improvements to equipment
- Key performance indicators such as equipment
Required knowledge, skills or experience
- Must have multi-skilled maintenance experience with automated robotic facilities
- Must have served a recognised Maintenance apprenticeship preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven problem-solving skills using structured approach
- To be capable of working under minimal supervision with objectives being set by the Team Leader or Manager.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude toward change, with a willingness to be flexible and adapt to new circumstances
- Experience with PLC’s, fault finding and/or programming.
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, possess a good mechanical knowledge of CNC and other special purpose machines.
- Reasonable level of experience in Welding Technology and maintaining welding equipment.
- Team working skills

Location: Newton Aycliffe
Hours of work: 37.5 hours - 3 shift rotation
- 7am - 3pm
- 3pm - 11pm
- 11pm - 7am
Rates of pay:
- £38,582 - £40,872 depending on skills and qualifications, plus 17.6% shift allowance.
