Network Engineer – Cyber and OT Security

Location – Staffordshire plus travel to other sites

Salary - £45,000 - £50,000

In this role you will collaborate with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performance digital systems on schedule. You will bring an expertise of Network Security Engineering with Operational Technology (OT) environments.

Core Responsibilities:

• Partner with cross-functional teams to design, test, and deploy advanced digital solutions tailored to the gas industry, ensuring timely project delivery.
• Embed strong cyber security frameworks in all systems, adhering to standards such as IEC62443.
• Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigations.
• Provide technical support to internal departments while ensuring smooth collaboration across organizational units.
• Conduct site visits and provide on-site support for installations and troubleshooting during defined periods.

Required Competencies:

• Proficiency in networking concepts, including routing, VLANs, managed switches, firewalls, and network security protocols.
• Expertise in cyber security with hands-on experience applying security principles to industrial systems, particularly in gas sector applications.
• Strong knowledge of industrial automation, networking, and control systems.
• Familiarity with IEC62443 standards and their application in industrial control systems (ICS).
• Skilled in both Windows and Linux environments, covering tasks such as imaging, securing systems, and managing logs.
• Independent problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to technical challenges.
• Valid driving license and flexibility for on-site travel.
