Your new role

We are seeking an seasoned Solution Implementation Engineer to take lead in our network implementation team. You will play a crucial role in developing and managing the team, whilst having a hands on approach to understanding upcoming requirements.

• Maintaining close working relationships with high-profile customers, Exponential-e PMO & Provisioning teams to ensure smooth delivery of orders and projects
• Managing a team of network/firewall engineers, holding regular meetings and performance reviews
• Maintain smooth work delegation and workload tracking processes
• Step in as an implementation engineer on any high-profile orders when required
• Support the Exponential-e Sales teams with order design reviews

Assisting with R&D when new products and technologies are onboarded

• Efficient management of team resources and skills, developing subject matter experts

What you’ll need to succeed

Experienced in routing & switching configuration and/or support, ideally Cisco or Juniper

• Excellent knowledge of networking principles such as switching, routing, subnetting, wireless, and PC/Mac network configuration

• Experience with routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), redundancy protocols (HSRP/VRRP), and switching technologies (STP, VLANs, dot1Q, QinQ)

• Good knowledge of network security, including NAT, UTM, and general firewall operations (FortiGate and Palo Alto)

• Understanding of access technologies such as Carrier Ethernet, optical networks, xDSL, and 4G/5G

• Familiar with MPLS/VPLS and SD-WAN technologies
