Occupational Therapist - NHS Professionals : Job Details

The post holder will have experience working as an Occupational Therapist and be happy working as part of a team delivering Occupational Therapy in a community setting. They must be able to demonstrate initiative and prioritise a complex workload whilst working both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of a team.

Role Details:

• · To assess and identify the individual needs of patients, to clinically diagnose and implement treatment plans if appropriate in a manner that respects people’s privacy, dignity, and individuality
• · To formulate and deliver an individualised physiotherapy treatment programme, including manual therapy techniques, therapeutic handling, patient education, provision of exercise (individual/group), and other alternative options
• · To record and report findings appropriately following the standard procedures used by the department to maintain high levels of written/verbal communication
• · To assist Clinical Therapy Manager/Team Leader in service development and the provision of a quality service
• · To take responsibility for junior members of staff and delegate duties as necessary, always providing appropriate level of support
• · To be responsible for maintaining own competency and self-development

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Hold a Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
• · Be HCPC registered
• · Have previous NHS experience
• Full, UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
• · Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical, and legal codes of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), and Trust and NHS protocols and guidelines
• Experience of the administration and interpretation of commonly used standardised cognitive assessments.
• It is essential the candidate has experience working with older people in a rehab setting
• Experience working in a therapy team
