Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to provide highly skilled and specialised assessment and treatment for patients within our in-patient/out-patient service. This includes pre-op assessment and a post-operative hand splinting clinic. The successful candidate will take a lead role in occupational therapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patient caseload as required and support the wider multidisciplinary team with complex discharge planning and Falls assessments.
Day to Day of the role:
- Conduct thorough assessments of health and wellbeing needs for patients.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans based on patient goals and clinical diagnosis.
- Provide specialised advice and support to patients and colleagues on current evidence-based practice.
- Maintain accurate clinical observations, treatment records, and ensure proper billing and stock control within the therapy department.
- Communicate complex, sensitive, or contentious information effectively to patients and team members.
- Lead and support the development of knowledge, ideas, and work practices within the occupational therapy specialty.
- Utilise technology effectively for the measurement, monitoring, and treatment of patients.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree (BSc Hons Occupational Therapy) or equivalent.
- Post-graduate experience in relevant specialism, including post-operative hand splinting.
- Clinical leadership experience, e.g., developing peers.
- Competence across a range of occupational therapy, management, and leadership skills.
- Evidence of post-registration continuing professional development.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software.
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council.
- Membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists is desirable.
