Job Summary

We are seeking two dedicated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapists to join the Medicine Therapy and multidisciplinary teams within the Trust. These roles are key in providing flexible and responsive Occupational Therapy services to patients within the Medicine/Winter Pressure wards. The successful candidates will deliver high-quality care through advanced Occupational Therapy assessments, treatments, and specialist advice, contributing significantly to patient management and discharge planning across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care & Assessment: Conduct advanced Occupational Therapy assessments and deliver tailored treatment plans for patients within Medicine/Winter Pressure wards.
  • Specialist Advice: Offer expert guidance and support to other healthcare professionals on patient management and best practices in Occupational Therapy.
  • Discharge Planning: Facilitate effective discharge planning processes, ensuring timely and safe discharges for patients transitioning out of acute inpatient settings.
  • Collaboration: Work closely within the Medicine Therapy and multidisciplinary teams to develop cohesive, patient-centered care strategies.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the department, particularly during peak seasonal pressures.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience: Recent acute inpatient ward experience, with a strong background in Occupational Therapy within a hospital setting.
  • Discharge Planning: Proven expertise in discharge planning, ensuring smooth transitions for patients.
  • Registration: Current HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration as an Occupational Therapist.
