About The Job
Salary: NJC grade 6 - 7 depending on experience: £26,409 - £31,067Working Pattern: Full timeContract Length: PermanentLocation: Although this is a Countywide team we take in to account people's office base where possible when allocating cases where possible and an office base of Horsham or Worthing is available for this role. Business mileage can be claimed for travel.
Our Occupational Therapy Team is unique in working across the lifespan of disability, helping children, young people and adults to live independent, productive lives. You will work as a part of a strong and dynamic Occupational Therapy serviceas a member of acounty-wideteam. In this role you will undertake strengths-based assessments via a variety of mediums (e.g. telephone / video assessment, home-based assessment) with the guidance of an HCPC registered occupational therapist(as directed by Care Act 2014), utilising yourskills and knowledge to develop and implement a plan of support aimed at improving wellbeingand delivering outcomes for people. The plan may include advice, information, the provision of assistive equipment and recommendations for home adaptation. You will also be expected to carry out risk assessments and undertake assessments under the Mental capacity Act 2007. You will receive induction and training to enable you to undertake your role.
Qualifications and/or experience:
*A minimum of 3 GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent qualification e.g.NVQ.*Experience of working with people with disabilities(children and / or adults), and an understanding of the effects of a disabling condition on a person.*Some experience of working in a hospital, social care or similar formal care environment. *Knowledge of the use of and the risk and safety factors associated with disability and equipment / adaptation provision.
