Halcyon Care are delighted to be working with a children's care provider based in Preston who are looking for a Registered Manager. They are private organisation that offers high quality residential care for children and young people with complex needs associated with challenging behaviour.
Job Description:
As a Registered Children's Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and well-being for the children and young people in our care. You will work closely with the local authority, partner agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young people.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of staff to deliver high-quality care and support to children and young people
- Develop and implement individual care plans, ensuring the needs of each child are met
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including Ofsted guidelines
- Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, incident reports, and medication records
- Manage budgets, including staff costs, supplies, and services
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Identify training needs and develop staff to improve performance
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure best practice
Requirements:
- Registered with Ofsted as a Children's Home Manager or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Children's Home Manager or Deputy Manager
- Strong leadership and management skills with experience of managing a team
- Ability to work effectively with children, young people, parents, carers, and external agencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stress
- Knowledge of childcare legislation, policies, and procedures
- NVQ Level 5 in Childcare or equivalent qualification
