Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Acting as the subject matter expert on operational resilience, offering insights, guidance, and training to ensure a thorough understanding of resilience principles across all levels.
  • Leading the identification, assessment, and mitigation of vulnerabilities within operational processes, ensuring timely and effective responses to potential threats.
  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential disruptions and implementing strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Completion of the banks Operational Resilience self-assessment.
  • Developing, maintaining, and co-ordinate testing across important business services to demonstrate that the organisation can continue critical operations during and after a disruption.
  • Overseeing incidents that impact the banks Important Business services, ensuring that they are effectively managed and investigated.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and industry bodies, to ensure compliance with operational resilience standards and best practices.
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures related to operational resilience, ensuring they are aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing and presenting regular reports on the status of operational resilience to senior management and relevant committees.
  • Conducting training sessions and awareness programs to enhance the understanding and importance of operational resilience within the organisation.

Previous Experience and Technical Skills

  • Proven experience in operational resilience, risk management or related fields within financial services
  • Full understanding of Operational Resilience, including an understanding of regulatory requirements, including PRA SS2/21 and related frameworks.
  • Experience in scenario testing, incident management planning and business continuity/disaster recovery.
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk management practices and resilience.
  • Ability to map processes, systems and interdependencies.
  • Strong analytical and presentational skills, helping to identify vulnerabilities and work to propose effective solutions.
