Job Description :

The business are based in Mayfair, have circa 100 professionals globally and have grown over the last 10 years to be north of £25Bn of AUM. Headquartered in London and with a European focus. Minimum deal ticket size is in the 50M Euro and the business have done individual financing deals of over 1Bn Euro. We are seeking an operational restructuring expert who has experience of analysing portfolio companies in different stages of the cycle and be able to work with senior management to assist with the turnaround//improvement process tracking, controlling etc. This is a high profile role and we are flexible on the level of individual we hire (senior associate or VP equivalent) and can tailor some of the role responsibilities to the individuals skill set.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in initial analysis and presentation of portfolio performance with a key focus on areas of underperformance
  • Ad-hoc deep dives on portfolio companies with performance improvement potential, working closely with company management, deal teams, and advisors to understand situation
  • Development and monitoring of performance improvement programmes across the funds portfolio
  • Assist in financial restructuring work streams incl. internal approval processes, negotiations with other stakeholders, implementation of restructuring solutions
  • Provide analysis, oversight, and governance to portfolio companies and work with management teams on improving performance
  • Prepare for and attend investor meetings on portfolio performance

Qualities for the right individual:

  • Ability to analyse, digest, and critique key management information (requires analytical and numerical skills, presentation skills, as well as commercial understanding of businesses). Prior experience in either restructuring or performance improvement required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, incl. PPT
  • Excellent Excel skills. Ability to take company information and process/analyse (this will be tested as part of the interview process)
  • Ability to handle a variety of projects, inquisitive mind-set, open to challenges
  • Ability to drive projects independently and strong work ethics required
  • Often time-pressured environment and ability to prioritise
  • Ability to present results and communicate with senior stakeholders across the firm
