Operations Assistant/Officer - Mandarin Speaking - China Merchants Bank : Job Details

We are a leading Chinese bank in the City and currently recruiting for an Operations Assistant/Officer. The Bank is renowned worldwide for the quality of its customer services and has operated in the UK as a Branch for 8 years.

The successful candidates will be a highly driven, career-minded individual with a desire to gain a thorough knowledge of Operations within an international bank. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work within a small team covering a broad area of duties. The responsibilities in the role of the Operations Assistant/Officer will include the following:

• Handle daily operational transactions and enquiries;
• Ensure all transactions are handled efficiently with potential risks identified and mitigated;
• Communicate and coordinate both externally and internally on behalf of the department and the bank;
• Assist in the development of projects related to system automation;
• Other duties as assigned by the department head.

To be successful in the role of the Operations Assistant/Officer, the following key skills are essential:

• 2+ years’ experience in an operations role within the financial industry is preferred;
• A Bachelor’s degree or above;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Fast learner, team player, energetic and results-oriented;
• Strong sense of responsibility;
• Skills in analytical thinking and ability to work under pressure;
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles;
• Excellent communication skills. Fluent in English and Chinese Mandarin both in verbal and writing;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially in Excel), preferably with SQL database skills.

This will be a full-time position and the successful candidate will receive a mark-to-market salary package depending on experience. The closing date for applications is 5 November 2024.
