Role: General Manager

Location: Norwich (onsite)

Salary range: £70-85,000

Atkinson Moss Leadership recruitment have been exclusively retained to support this leading business, with the appointment of their new General Manager. This position could suit a current Operations/Commercial Manager/Director or of course General Manager.

In this role you will:

Drive the company’s success by managing day-to-day operations, implementing winning strategies, and fostering strong client relationships. Lead with a 'can-do' attitude, inspiring a culture of excellence, innovation, and high performance.

Build and coach future talent, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and exceptional service that clients value and staff take pride in. Champion growth while steering the company towards its goals and maintaining operational excellence at every step.

Main duties:

  • Achieve revenue and profit targets by efficiently managing resources.
  • Develop and manage budget and resource plans.
  • Oversee logistics and fleet management to optimise mobile workforce productivity.
  • Lead sales strategy to drive growth aligned with business goals.
  • Analyse financial data to guide finance strategy.
  • Implement growth strategies and champion continuous improvement.
  • Minimise operational costs where possible.
  • Delegate tasks to help staff grow and reach their potential.
  • Report business updates to the Board of Directors.
  • Explore new markets and partnerships to support growth.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team to identify business improvements.
  • Communicate with the Senior Leadership Team, setting clear objectives and targets.
  • Provide leadership across all levels of the company.
  • Ensure management training for succession planning.
  • Offer feedback and manage performance effectively.
  • Resolve product or project issues and handle customer disputes.
  • Manage team performance through regular feedback and development opportunities.
  • Evaluate performance across the business to identify areas for improvement.

Skills & Experiences required:

  • Proven experience managing diverse mobile workforces across multiple UK locations.
  • Strong track record of exceeding business targets and executing successful business strategies.
  • Skilled in analysing performance data and turning insights into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and grow teams.
  • Expertise in negotiation, problem-solving, and planning.
  • Ability to manage relationships with external partners effectively.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Confident presenter with experience engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work autonomously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Consultative and influential leadership style.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other IT tools.
