Our award-winning, forward-thinking client is looking for a Operations/Factory Manager to join their team in Newark to work as part of the senior management team and drive business growth through efficient operations.
THE ROLE
The successful Operations/Factory Manager will be responsible for management of production across the site and all associated staff. Overseeing production planning activities and communicating effectively with Supervisors and other Managers to ensure targets are achieved. Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensuring all production orders and associated paperwork is completed and is accurate and informative.
- Oversee new product production, instructing staff on production plans, reporting back feedback to the design team.
- Working closely with the Quality Manager to ensure that new products are meeting the standards.
- Effectively communicate day to day instructions, by way of team briefs and regular conversations to Team Leaders & Supervisors.
- Ensure customer requirements are met, liaising with customers, design and tool makers for new projects.
- Stock and budget control for production related operations and maintenance, reporting effectively to the Directors.
- Maintain an overview of the training and administration for all staff, ensuring compliance on all mandatory training.
- Play a key part in machine improvements, factory layout or upgrades to ensure that the factory runs with minimal disruption.
- Management of the maintenance team to ensure efficient running of the factory and reduced downtime.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal Operations/Factory Manager will have a good understanding of a manufacturing setting and promote a positive working atmosphere, encouraging and supporting employee development. They will display the follow key skills and attributes:
- NVQ Level 3 in team management or equivalent.
- NVQ L3 or equivalent in performing manufacturing operations (or Similar).
- IOSH.
- Strong commercial and operational knowledge.
- Competent computer skills using Microsoft office programmes.
- A good understanding of stock control and production.
- Planning and organisational skills to a high standard are essential.
- Problem solving, analytical and an eye for detail to ensure all products are produced to the highest standard.
- Outstanding People Management skills.
- Effective communication at all levels.
- Analytical and technically minded.
- Confident decision maker.
