Job Description :

I am looking for a dedicated and experienced Operational & Project Manager with a strong background in mechanical engineering, I am currently seeking someone who has expertise in managing teams, facilities, and equipment to a new role. I need someone with a proven track record in overseeing complex projects, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, I am eager to find someone with skills to a forward-thinking organization in the mechanical engineering sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and operational efficiency of buildings, plant, and equipment across the site.
  • Manage and lead a team of 20 staff, including multi-skilled engineers, design engineers, welders, fabricators, and stores personnel, to support production goals and ensure output efficiency.
  • Coordinate daily operations, including facilities management and project work across the site, ensuring compliance with statutory inspections for equipment such as hydraulic presses, welding machines, printers, and photocopiers.
  • Evaluate and review equipment for overhauls, upgrades, and improvements to enhance operational performance and output.
  • Conduct internal audits of stock holdings and manage inventory in support of plant equipment needs.
  • Lead the overhaul and development of Health & Safety (H&S) practices and procedures, implementing a new H&S Manual and Staff Handbook for daily operations.
  • Manage department budgets and subcontractors, particularly for specialist equipment and service support.
  • Plan and coordinate work production activities, including planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and third-party contract support, with planning cycles extending up to 12 months.
  • Project manage timelines and oversee the delivery of commissioned equipment to client facilities, deploying commissioning teams/engineers to ensure successful completion.
  • Conduct staff reviews, assess competency levels, and actively recruit to enhance team skills, ensuring alignment with production needs and goals.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards such as ISO 9001:2015, BS EN 1090 Structural Steel, and NOBO/HPI standards.
  • Foster and promote a culture of health and safety, continuously reviewing and improving risk assessments and safety practices across the site.
  • Oversee and manage statutory inspections of all relevant equipment, including lifting equipment, structural inspections, test equipment, and fire safety equipment, ensuring compliance at all times.

Salary : 40000 - 65000
