We are currently seeking Overhead Line Engineers at all levels to join our Transmission & Distribution team, with roles to be based in any of our UK offices.

As an Overhead Line Engineer within our team you be involved in the delivery of a wide range OHL projects - producing and reviewing technical documents in line with industry standards. It is a varied role that will see you involved in the development of design criteria, conductor selection, structure type selection, insulation coordination and lightning performance.

You will be involved in the development of typical OHL design deliverables - including line schedules, plan/profile drawings, staking tables and special crossings design. You will conduct feasibility studies to assess the technical and economic viability of proposed projects and coordinate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., civil, structural) to ensure the overall integrity of the project.

About you:

You will ideally have a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural or Civil Engineering or industry experience if coming from a hands-on/construction pathway. CEng, IEng registration or working towards registration would be beneficial. You will have experience as either an Overhead Line Design Engineer or similar role working on various Transmission and Distribution projects. Preferably you would have worked for either a Design Consultant, Design/Build Contractor, or an Asset Owner in your experience to date. You will have experience in using PLS-CADD to carry out both new OHL designs and modifications to existing designs.

For this role it would be beneficial if you bring a strong understanding of complimentary T&D disciplines to OHL Design - for example an understanding/experience of HV Plant design or HV Cable design or T&D Civil design. The ideal candidate will possess a broad background with a specialism in OHL to be treated as beneficial.

Experience of developing OHL deliverables as well as managing OHL delivery and workload across multiple projects.Finally, you will be a team player with a passion for innovation and client service, with ambitions to tackle a range of engineering challenges as our teams look to continue its growth in the sector.
