About the Role Southwark boasts an incredible portfolio of over 100 parks and green spaces, including woodlands, recreation grounds, cemeteries, and even a marina. These spaces are vital to the health, wellbeing, and enjoyment of our diverse community. As a Natural Environment Assets Officer, you will play a critical role in managing these valuable assets, ensuring they are safe, well-maintained, financially sustainable, and accessible to all. Working closely with the Natural Environment Asset Manager, you will have a leading role in: ? The property management of our extensive land and building assets, ensuring compliance and sustainability. ? The procurement, negotiation, renewal, and management of leases, service agreements, and contracts across the portfolio. ? The monitoring and implementation of statutory compliance and health & safety across all sites. ? The delivery of investment projects that improve and transform the borough’s parks and natural environment. What We’re Looking ForWe are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking professional with a background in property or asset management, preferably within parks, open spaces, or environmental services. You should have: ? Experience in property or facility management, including lease agreements and compliance. ? Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget monitoring, income tracking, and financial sustainability planning. ? Knowledge of best practices in health and safety compliance, contract management, and procurement. ? Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to negotiate partnerships and work collaboratively with local communities, businesses, and service providers. ?
