We are seeking a team of 2 dedicated and experienced PAT testers to join our team and work on a busy train station in Birmingham
A PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) tester ensures the electrical safety of portable appliances within various workplaces, homes, or public spaces.
PAT tester Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rates of £17per hour (Umbrella) - equivalent to £12.5 per hour PAYE direct
- Bonus up to £500 based on productivity
- 3 months contract duration
- Flexible hours (Friday, Sat & Sunday eve) or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Eve.
- 6 hours work days
- working hours 7pm to 1am
PAT tester the role:
- Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on electrical appliances and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with the relevant health and safety standards and regulations.
- Record and label tested equipment with pass/fail results.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of tests, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct visual inspections for wear and tear, damage, or any other potential hazards.
- Ensure that faulty equipment is either repaired or removed from service until it is deemed safe.
- Report findings and recommend actions for any defective or unsafe appliances.
- Work collaboratively with facility managers, electricians, and other personnel.
- Provide regular updates to management on testing schedules and progress.
- Ensure that all testing equipment is well-maintained and calibrated.
- Attend any relevant training to stay updated on safety regulations and testing techniques.
PAT tester requirements:
- PAT Testing Certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent).
- Basic electrical knowledge or qualification is preferred.

- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in inspections.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills for reporting and record-keeping.
- Basic IT skills for recording test results in digital formats.
